music monday: 25 miles

Posted on August 3, 2015September 7, 2015 by arunningmess

Today’s song for Music Monday is taking us back a few decades and it’s a great song for any runner! But, it’s especially fitting for those who have tackled at least 25 miles. Hence, the name. I kept thinking of this song, “25 Miles” from Edwin Starr, Sunday morning as I was volunteering for Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run.

While I am going to devote a full post to my time at this race, one common issue runners had was their feet hurt. Well you think?! You’re going 100 miles! One fella said he felt like he was running on sandpaper. Ouch!

Now I’ve certainly had my fair share of my dogs barking, but I haven’t yet had the my-feet-hurt-so-much-from-running-100-miles kind of hurt. That’s on a whole new level!

So, this song is dedicated to all those who toed the lined at this past weekend’s Angeles Crest 100, and for anyone who’s feet were hurtin’ mighty bad.

Plus, nobody can resist dancing like these lovely ladies after finishing a marathon!

Enjoy!

Thanks for reading and Happy Running!
