I’m not embarrassed or ashamed to admit the first time I saw today’s Music Monday video, “Superheroes” by The Script, it made me cry. I can’t think of another song or video off the top of my head where it affected me like that. But I read something this week that made me think of this song.
It was a tweet from Paul Adams Running that said this:
At times we can feel stuck, or we’re feeling down, or have struggles we’re going through. In life. At work. In running. And it appears as if anything we do doesn’t propel us and doesn’t move us closer to better and to our goals. I know this happens to me and I know I’m not alone. And yeah, I get frustrated with it. It’s also very easy to fall into a state of negativity.
But I also realize the importance of having hope and faith and trusting everything will be okay. It’s picking ourselves up and having the strength to persevere when we don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Because I kept thinking of this tweet, I kept thinking of this song. It’s a good song and the lyrics are powerful. So let’s keep fighting for what we want and trusting.
By the way, just as a side note, if you’ve never seen The Script in concert, they are AMAZING! Seriously. They truly blew my mind the first (and only) time I saw them. I would love to see them again at some point…just not when they happen to have a show the same night as a Dawes concert, which is what happened back on June 2nd this year. That was ONE night I needed to be cloned.
Enjoy and thanks for reading listening!
