music monday: how far we’ve come

Posted on December 28, 2015January 20, 2016 by arunningmess

As I was thinking about the final Music Monday song choice of 2015, I had quite a few to select from. However, questions kept popping up in my head. Do I go with a song that will wonderfully reflect the year? Do I choose a popular song all the kids are running to? Do I go for sappy, pull at your heart strings, make me cry a tall glass of tears of how fast this year has gone by? I went for a running song.

It’s been a long while since I’ve listened to “How Far We’ve Come” from Matchbox Twenty. I remember when this song came out and I couldn’t stop running to it. It’s a great song to run to. Even Rob Thomas sings “I started running but there’s nowhere to run to.” He must’ve been on a treadmill.

It was only as I was starting to look back on my year this song jumped out at me and thinking about how far I’ve come in 2015. From completing my first 50 Mile race in January to being on the brink of signing up for my first 100 Mile race. It’s been quite a year and of course a post is will follow soon.

So as we’re looking back on our 2015, let’s see how we started this year. Let’s see how we’re ending this year. Let’s see how far we’ve come.

Enjoy and thanks for reading listening!
