Hi friends!
It’s the first day of a new month and did you remember to say “Rabbit Rabbit” or “White Rabbit” upon waking?
If you’re not familiar with this superstition, it’s believed that if you say “Rabbit Rabbit” (or a similar version), as the first thing you say out loud upon waking up on the first day of the month, you’ll have good luck for the rest of it.
I didn’t fully believe it either, but when the clock struck midnight on January 1st before I even said Happy New Year, I said Rabbit Rabbit, and that month I won $500 on a lottery scratcher which was the most fun and wonderful surprise! Talk about being in complete shock! I’ve never won that much before and based on how I reacted, you’d think I had won a $500,000,000 jackpot!
So you bet “rabbit rabbit” were the first words I muttered out loud today.
The other words I said were, “I’m going to start up the blog again!”
This may have more surprising because aside from a few posts here and there, my little corner of the interwebs has sat fairly quiet in the last year or two. But for some reason, there was a tiny voice in my head saying I needed to do this.
It’s sort of like when you hear that tiny voice in your head nudging you to sign up for that big race for a distance you haven’t reached yet. You’re not quite sure why, or what it is, but something is pulling you to do so. Of course, when you’re in the “what was I thinking” phase of the race, you kinda wish you told that tiny voice to zip it! But when the race is over, for better or worse, you’re glad you listened to it after all.
I’ll be honest, I’m not quite sure where this is headed, but I’m curious as to what the tiny voice has in store. It’s already lead me to sign up for the virtual London Marathon and virtual Boston Marathon that both take place in the fall. That tiny voice sure is something, huh? But sometimes you just need to listen to it and trust it leads you in the right direction.
Thank you for reading and be well!
I missed it this month but will make a note of the rabbit rabbit morning message for July. :). Good to see you blogging some more.
I missed saying it last month! So I reminded myself not to forget this time. 🙂
And thank you, Jesse! I feel a bit out of practice.
