Hello Friends!
If you’re new here to my blog, I’m Christina, a runner living in L.A. and if you haven’t heard it for the millionth time this year, let me be the one to wish you Happy New Year and a Happy Lunar New Year. In fact, it marks the Year of the Tiger in 2022!
With that being said, here are a few fun facts about me:
- In the Chinese Zodiac, I am a Tiger. What does this mean exactly? I’m not entirely sure but various sources cite Tigers as being quick-witted, resourceful, versatile, kind, also stubborn (I will neither confirm nor deny that).
- 22 is my favorite number (since 1986).
- Because it’s the Year of the Tiger and the year (2022) includes my favorite number, I am feeling especially hopeful this year!
Bonus fun-fact: One of the lucky colors for Tigers is blue, and blue happens to be my favorite color. One of my favorite bands, The Head And The Heart recently released their newest single “Every Shade of Blue” so I’m feeling like this year could be epically good, but that’s me feeling hopeful. Now I need Springsteen to announce his tour and all would be even better!
Hope is trusting that something good, and positive will happen in the future, such as:
- I hope I run the Chicago Marathon this year (because nothing will derail the race from happening)
- I hope I remain healthy and injury-free (because I’m going to be smart about my training and ramping up my mileage).
- I hope the weather is beautiful and race conditions are perfect (because who doesn’t love running a race with cool temperatures, low humidity, and a slight breeze).
- I hope __ (fill in the blank). The list goes on and on.
In challenging times, it can be difficult to hold on to ideas of hope, but I believe hope keeps us going, and moving forward.
Hope has us having something to look forward to.
Hope brings optimism about the future.
Yes, I do hope 2022 is a better year for all.
Thank you for reading and stay well!
