AM – 4.18 miles
PM – 3.03 miles
The Novice 1 plan had 4 miles on it while the Novice 2 plan had 6. I ran 4 in the morning and could have stopped there, but decided to get in at least another 2 in the afternoon for the 6. However, I went another mile past to reach 7.21 for the day.
It took a while for my legs to warm up this morning. The body didn’t want to wake up as quickly, but the afternoon run was much easier.
I wore the Speedgoats for the morning miles and the Bondi for the afternoon. No issues with any teeny tiny blisters showing up. I didn’t even change the lacing on them. Both feet were fine for both runs.
And while the Speedgoats are technically trail shoes that I do wear on the trails, I also have another pair that I use for non-trail running since my feet are happy with them. And if my feet are happy, then so am I. But which shoes will I wear for Chicago? That remains to be seen.
Thank you for reading my daily post on my Chicago Marathon training.
