Chicago Marathon Training: Sat 7.02.22

Posted on July 2, 2022 by arunningmess

12.03 miles

I think the original line in Forrest Gump was “Every run is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.”

The sunny weather was perfect even with the higher humidity and the temperature in the low 60s, and a light breeze. If I could bottle it up and keep it I would because I see that heat creeping up next week. I’ll deal with it then, but today I was loving it!

Throughout the run my energy was great. I felt so good even running up a few easy inclines. My focus is on effort and not pace especially on trails.

When I finished my run, I discovered a little blister on my right foot’s big toe. The thing is I didn’t feel it. Normally I can feel a hot spot coming on, but nothing. I take off my sock and it’s “Surprise!” I really never know what I’m going to get.  Good thing I still have time to hopefully figure it out.

Thank you for reading my daily post on my Chicago Marathon training.
