5.22 miles
Cutting yesterday’s run short may have worked wonders because I felt pretty good today, even incorporating some speedier surges throughout. This is definitely a lovely change from feeling like I’m dragging along a few cinder blocks the past few days.
Today also marks Day 5 of no caffeine and if there is anything I’ve noticed besides the low gear energy and wanting to prop my eyelids open with toothpicks is that my sleep has improved! Falling asleep has been faster and I don’t wake up as often throughout the night. And if I do wake up I fall right back asleep quickly.
But I do miss that caffeine in my coffee so I have a feeling this isn’t going to be a forever thing but we’ll see. I’m enjoying the restful sleep, and who doesn’t love restful sleep? I have a feeling it comes in handy when training for a marathon.
Thank you for reading my daily post on my Chicago Marathon training.
