14.25 miles
It’s been several hours since I finished my long miles, and my feet still feel achy, which I know will subside by the morning.
The trails were on the quiet side when I got out there just before 8 AM but I shouldn’t be surprised since they tend to be quieter on Sundays.
These were the longest miles I’ve completed in one sitting since the virtual Boston Marathon last October but I’m not sure that even counts since I stopped to eat lunch at some point. The clock was continuing to run but I wasn’t. I needed food.
I am wrapping up Week 8 and feel good right now, but I know these miles are ramping up quickly. Next week is another cutback week but I may switch that to the following week.
But for now, I am enjoying the progress I’ve made in July and ending it with 168 miles for the month. All I can hope for is to continue to get stronger and keep plugging along day by day focusing on the moment that I am in.
Thank you for reading my daily post on my Chicago Marathon training.
