Chicago Marathon Training: Tu 8.23.22

Posted on August 23, 2022 by arunningmess

5.16 miles

One thought I had during today’s miles is that the race will be over in about 47 days and hence, so will these daily training blog posts.

If you’ve read a post here and there over the past 11 weeks, I just want to say Thank You! Most of the time I think I’m writing into the void but I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m happy I’ve been able to do this. Plus that accountability factor helps.

And now I need to figure out how I will tackle tomorrow’s midweek 8 miler. Do I try to slug them out in one sitting which means an extra early start to my day? Or do I break them up into two camps: an early start and late afternoon?

These will also be the questions I’ll have for the next 4 weeks due to the long midweek run, and I don’t have any answers right now. As difficult as it is to get an extra early start to the day because sleep is super precious, it’s also gratifying to get the miles done right away. Guess I’ll plan for an early start and see how it goes.

Thank you for reading my daily post on my Chicago Marathon training.
