Chicago Marathon Training: Th 09.01.22

5.22 miles

I told my body “it’s okay if you don’t give me 5 miles today even if it’s on the plan but would you kindly give me 3 at least.” Once I hit 3, I knew I had another mile in me, and then when I hit 4, well now, how could I not go for 5? I expected to feel a little more tired after yesterday’s 9 but I wasn’t.

And now I must prepare myself for the long run on Saturday that I don’t want to do on Saturday because I’d much rather watch the Foo Fighters Tribute Concert for Taylor Hawkins instead.

Besides, Sunday might be slightly cooler, but I really want to get this one over with sooner rather than later. However, I may go out on Sunday for a little bit as well even if it is my usual rest day. But that’s a big maybe. It will rest upon what happens on Saturday so I’ll just focus on that for now.
