1.50 miles
I’m not too concerned about the low mileage right now since I’ve been walking around a bit and noticed some fatigue in my legs. Therefore, I’m keeping my focus on rest and recovery with foam rolling and light stretching.
With the extra time I’ve packed up all my gear and it’s ready to go! I actually started packing on Saturday because I hate rushing and doing things last minute. That’s when I’ll forget something.
My music playlist is also updated but I only have it as a “just in case I truly need and want it” backup. Most of the time I don’t because I enjoy taking in all the sights and sounds of the city. But it’s good to have it available if I feel the need to listen to some Springsteen, Foo Fighters, The Head and The Heart, Sia, Caamp, The Gap Band, Mary J. Blige, The Cure, along with some Chicago and Illinois artists and songs (that mention Chicago) I made sure to include: Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Survivor, and of course, Chicago.
I love a variety of music and always have. And this is a small fraction of the playlist but I love including artists from the area I’m running in. I did this for the Philadelphia Marathon with all these artists from Philly and Pennsylvania but didn’t get to listen because at first I didn’t want music and when I did, the wind and rain made it impossible so I may need to listen this time around in Chicago.
And now all that remains is me showing up.
Thank you for reading my daily post on my Chicago Marathon training.
