That past couple of days I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster. Seeing, reading, and feeling the outpouring of love for my friend Mike has been amazing and beautiful. When I ventured to his Facebook wall and read what everyone posted on it, there was something quite apparent. Everyone had a story. Mike was loved by many, and…

what suffering a loss teaches us
I’m running off pure emotion right now but it’s been an enormously tough Monday and all these thoughts and feelings I have are coming to the surface. I need an outlet. This is my outlet. It was March 14, 2015 – the day before the L.A. Marathon and I was in Santa Monica to hear ultra runner…
wherrre’s the heat?
I’ve been feeling a bit antsy as of late. The reason being, Los Angeles has been having some pretty amazing weather lately. As I planned my week I made sure I was honest with myself and didn’t mark down training days I knew deep down I wouldn’t fulfill. For example, scheduling a 12 mile run…
when insomnia created me a facebook page
So my plan to resume training on Wednesday morning didn’t quite pan out as I had hoped because apparently somebody decided Tuesday night was the most opportune time to blast insanely loud thrashing death metal music outside my window. Now, I could go on and blame this person for waking me up, causing me to have mild…
recovery: a week after 50 miles
It’s been a week, actually six days to be exact, since I completed 50 miles and while I’d like to say recovery has been easy breezy and I’ve already started running again (YAY!), unfortunately that hasn’t been the case (BOOO!). Let’s just say, me not running, has very little to do with my feet or legs.
